What is this course about?
The BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care degree will equip you for work in the various roles that focus on promoting well-being in individuals, communities and populations. You will learn about the health and social care system and how it works, explore social determinants that can affect physical and mental health, and learn how to design and deliver care and support services. Your studies will include areas such as public health, safeguarding, mental health, health promotion, equality, ethics, and policy. You will also develop real skills to be able to make a positive impact in multiple settings and contexts through practical placements/ projects or lectures.

Gain an understanding of the values, ethical positions, and legal frameworks that inform the work undertaken in health and social care.
Critically review social determinants (e.g., income, housing, education) that can affect health and well-being.
Develop a thorough understanding of public health, health promotion, and preventive health care.
Study theories and practice in relation to safeguarding, mental health, and inclusive models of care.
Students will also benefit from engaging, real-world placements or projects to apply the theory learnt, develop communication skills, and collaborate with care professionals.
Entry Requirements (for International Students)
An accepted high-school qualification or others that are deemed equivalent and at the appropriate level by UK undergraduate entry requirements.
English language qualifications (e.g., IELTS) if previous education was not in English.

Yes, many universities will accept students with little or no previous experience in care, provided that you show an attitude of determination, compassion, and you are able to show potential in an academic sense.
