You will consider important themes such as:

The BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care four-year degree with Foundation Year in Health is an ideal option for all those students who do not have traditional entry requirements.

The Foundation Year will help you develop academic confidence and give you the core concepts, discussions and skills to study at a degree level.

In addition, you will gain a holistic view of health and social care by considering how human biology, psychology, and sociology together impact the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. You will also consider the importance of exercise and lifestyle to the promotion of health and appreciate multi-disciplinary perspectives when it comes to health, behaviour change and client care.

Once you have completed your Foundation Year, you will move to Level 4 of the degree, and you will build on your knowledge and experience in professional practice.

Foundation Year (Year 1):

Introduce the basics of psychology, sociology, and human biology

Year 2 (Level 4):

Introduce psychological interventions and alternative therapies
Introduce social prescribing and community health support

Year 3 (Level 5)

Develop knowledge and skills in managing long-term conditions
Diversify and apply knowledge with practical modules

Year 4 (Level 6)

Develop leadership and entrepreneurship skills for healthcare
Apply key theories of health, well-being, and behaviour change
Finish and submit final projects and work towards professionalisation
